G: Salbutamol sulfate, guaifenesin
I: Management of reversible airways obstruction, as in asthma and other chronic obstructive pulmonary disease associated with tenacious secretion of viscous mucus.
D: Children: 2-6 yrs old - 5-10 mL (1-2 teaspoonfuls). 7-12 yrs old: 10 mL (2 teaspoonfuls). Adults and children over 12 yrs old: 5-10 mL (2-4 teaspoonfuls). To be taken 2-3 times a day. Or as prescribed by a physician. Children: 2-6 yrs old: 1/2 -1 tablet. 7-12 yrs old: 1 tablet. To be given every 6-8 hours. Or as prescribed by a physician. Adult: Tablet: 1 tablet to be given every 6-8 hours. Or as prescribed by a physician.
P: Salbutamol and other beta-agonist should be given with caution in hyperthyroidism, myocardial insufficiency, arrythmias, susceptibility to QT-interval prolongation, hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Pregnancy Risk Category for salbutamol and guafenesin: C.
